Malfunctioning dishwashers are one the biggest causes of water damage in homes.

Water Removal Cleanup for Your Mesa Home

When your home in Mesa has experienced a water damage emergency from a malfunctioning dishwasher, you could have several gallons of water sitting in your kitchen. The issue needs to be addressed right away to prevent additional damages. Water damages become irreparable to the flooring, cabinets, and your structure itself the longer it sits.

Professional water removal services are needed for Mesa right away. Our staff at SERVPRO work quickly to get to your residence as quickly as possible after you contact us. We have the experience and the equipment to dry your home back out and get your life back to normal. It is easy to see in a situation like this why SERVPRO is the first choice in water damage restoration.

Since the water emergency happened in your kitchen, SERVPRO technicians inspect the flooring and the subflooring for damage, as well as the surrounding cabinets around the dishwasher. Grouted joints and ceramic tile are usually waterproofed when installed over plywood. However, any cracks make the tile vulnerable to water damage. Many times, the tile is unaffected, but water can penetrate the grouting, creating warping or expansion of the floor. The tiles break apart at the joints and come loose because of this.

Plus, in the case of a dishwasher malfunction, the water is likely coming up from underneath the tile, causing the subflooring to swell and the tiles to crack.  We replace or reinstall the tiles once we dry the subfloor and repair it. It might be necessary to dry the floor form the bottom or drill holes into the floor so we can adequately monitor the drying process. We use a nonpenetrating moisture meter to detect moisture underneath the ceramic tiles. The dishwasher itself is also carefully moved so we can dry out underneath it.

SERVPRO of Grand Junction understands the effects of water on subflooring and ceramic tiles when your home in Palisade, Redlands, or Mesa has a water damage emergency. Give us a call as soon as you realize there is a problem at (970) 241-8181, so we can restore your home fast.
